About Counselling and Psychotherapy
What is the difference between counselling and psychotherapy?
Counselling is usually short term and focusses on a situation or difficulty in the present/ recent past that you want to resolve and move forward from.
Psychotherapy is longer term work that can help you to identify and resolve prolonged patterns of self-limiting beliefs, thoughts, feelings and behaviours that are rooted in early life and childhood. Psychotherapy helps you to understand the psychological structures that you put in place during childhood in an attempt to get your needs met. This can highlight the underlying reasons that are preventing you from reaching your maximum potential and free you to pursue the future you deserve - in all areas of your life.
As a counsellor and psychotherapist I have the skills, knowledge and experience to support your needs throughout our work together.
